Long update...

Another weekend here. I am hoping to make it to the pumpkin patch tomorrow. Emma knows it is coming up so we better go! We were at the market today and she was starting to get upset when we left without a pumpkin. That surprised me since we have not really talked about pumpkins yet although she has been seeing them at the stores for who knows how long. We did just look at pictures from last year so she might be making the connection that way that we need to still get a pumpkin. I told her that we would be getting ours tomorrow when we go to the pumpkin patch so all night she has been signing pumpkin, and I would say "tomorrow" and she would grin and say "patch!" It is pretty funny because she signs pumpkin the way she does the finger sign for the song "where is thumpkin"

Other vocab break throughs... Came from looking at pictures again. We were looking at her pictures from our latest trip to CA this summer. We got to the ones of her at the beach and before I could say anything she says "beach!" Smart girl! Today we were heading back to town from picking up Dave's paycheck and we were crossing over KPRK bridge, which crosses the Yellowstone River, and she yells out "beach." Off to the left side, where she was pointing, is a huge sandbar when the water is low.

She now refers to herself as baby. She will sit in her car seat and ask for me to put her music cd in. She first says "baby" then "dance" and then will dance back and forth in her carseat. She will also do this little sing-song thing and say "mommy, daddy, baby!" Or if I am trying to help her with something she wants to do she will say "no, baby."

She is gettig pretty independent with some things. She can and, for the most part, wants to be the one who puts her self up in her booster seat and get herself strapped in. She can get her sandels on by herself and usually on the right feet! Can get her sleeper jammies off in the morning. Only needs help, usually just verbal, to get the feet off since they have elastic around the ankle. She just needs to learn to grab at the heel and she will have it. Stairs she is great at. Can go up with no hands or wall. Down she still holds onto the wall or a hand (but I enforce that more for safety than anything). Holding onto a hand for balance she is up stairs with only one foot on each stair.

New words (quite possible I am repeating some): patch, please, drive, beach, alley
