So Emma is still pretty much just babbling to get her points across. If she points, unless she knows the word, everything is "gat." I assume she means "that." So she was talking on her phone last night and says "yeah yeah bob." No idea where it came from but it was the cutest thing.
The city is working on replacing all the street corners on the main road by our house with handiap curbs. Emma is loving this! She loves to go out and watch the guys working. Two weeks ago it was the cement mixer, and today it was the Catapiller she was wide eyed over. She can not get enough of the large equipment!
Naps have gone pretty good the past two days. No fighting when I put her down and she is actually sleeping more than an hour. That being said, she is playing in her crib at night and not going down right away and getting up an hour earlier now!
She learned a new sign yesterday. Dave was home briefly at lunch and she became VERY upset when he left so I talked with her about how he had to go to work and that he would be home at dinner time. And then I showed her the sign for work and she picked it up in a couple minutes. I would ask her where Daddy is and she would point out the window. I would then say "Daddy is at work" and she would get a big grin and sign "work"!
Speaking of signing, Dave said she linked two signs together last night! I think she said "more milk" to him! I have been working on this when we are reading and she signs "more." I ask her to sign "more" and "book" and she will do it with cues but until last night, she had not on her own!
Well, she is 18 mos now and I am not sure where the time went. We go in for her well child visit this coming Friday so I will update her once I know her stats.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

It's Thursday...
Well, right now I am listening to Emma trying not to take a nap. I thought we had this problem worked out. After refusing naps now for a couple weeks (although still going in the crib for an hour), I finally just moved her nap time from 11:30ish to 1 pm. Worked the first two days, although the naps were a lot shorter than what she needs...only 45 mins. It does not seem to be working today...
We went to storytime at the library this morning. I have been trying to take her each week so she gets used to it. She does pretty good. I think she would rather be moving around more but she is getting used to sitting and did not fight it much this week. There were at least 20 kids there today and quite a few around her age. She is starting to make friends with an older boy and a couple girls who are close to 2 years old.
The weather here is doing it weird spring stuff again. We had a nice couple days and then a winter storm yesterday. Today is still cold but most of the snow has melted off.
Her latest game is to stand infront of me while I am sitting on the floor, start to lean forward and fall so I catch her. She started doing this last night and she was laughing so hard!
Well, she is asleep now so I am going to get going and get some stuff done. Hope everyone's week is going well :)

Welcome!
I hope this evening finds everyone well! Spring has arrived here in Montana (at least for today)!
Emma and I are enjoying the weather and taking advantage of it to walk around downtown. Today we took care of business at the bank (one of her favorite places to visit as the ladies there spoil her with attention!) and then stopped in at the local dime store to see the fish. We spent the rest of the hour just walking around downtown enjoying the sun.
The biggest struggle is nap time. I think it is time to move it later in the afternoon since she is just not going to sleep at the current time.
We spent the weekend working on the yard. Emma enjoyed using her new toys (lawn mower and rake/shovel) to help daddy! We are working on clearing out a corner of the yard to build her a sandbox. I think she was just happy enough playing with the dirt in the flower beds!
I have a feeling that if I introduced a new sign to Emma everyday she would pick up on them. In the past couple days she has learned how to sign "baby","drive", and "bird."
That is all for now. I will try to drop in an update every couple of days!
