Each year, Livingston puts on a 3 day festival called Summerfest. This was the first year we went. There were two great bands playing tonight. Montana Rose, country, and The Max, rock and roll. Montana Rose started at 5 pm and we got there just after they started. They were pretty good. Their music was more along the lines of Patsy Cline. While they were up, we wandered around looking at the different booths and grabbing some food and drinks. Once done eating we headed closer to the stage and Emma wasted no time going up to dance! It was really cute. She even made a friend and danced with her for a while.
Just as The Max came on at 7:30 a rain/wind storm rolled in and it was pretty funny to watch everyone run for cover. Emma just kept on running around and dancing. The wind got pretty nasty at one point and everyone was trying to hold everything down so it did not fly away. The power was knocked out for about 15-20 mins but once back on, The Max picked right back up where they left off. The are pretty much a cover band but they played a few of their own songs as well.
We planned to stay until 8:30 or so but sine they could not play for a while we stayed later... Emma had a BLAST!!! There were a couple times she headed right for the dance floor and into the crowd and by that time it was really crowded so we put an end to her dancing up there. Instead I threw her up on my shoulders and I think she started having even more fun then! Dave says she was just hollering and waving her arms around with a huge grin on her face! The closer to the stage I got, the happier she was. I had to take her off at one point to give the camera to Dave and she was not happy! We stayed until the last song (10ish) and it sounded like (as we walked away) they did a song or two for an encore but we wanted to get out before the crowds.
She also had her face painted for the first time. She did really well and did not move while the lady painted a flower (matches the outfit she was wearing). She was really interested in what the lady was doing!
We were only going to go tonight but now we might head down tomorrow if there is anything interesting going on.
